ITKs documented under KSHAMTA

  • Kur : A small pond dug out in paddy fields measuring 5×5 to 10×10 sqft. Conserves rainwater for drought period in Sali paddy.
  • Damol : Earthen periphery bunds, traditionally constructed in upland residential plots. In-situ conservation of soil and water from uplands.
  • Use of bark of Indian Devil’s tree as (Alstonia scholaris) as anthelmintic for Pig : Bark of Indian Devil’s tree is boiled and the decoction is mixed with kitchen waste which is used as Pig feed. By applying this locally available medicine, they believe parasitic load of the animal has been reduced as well as money for buying anthelmintic medicine is reduced.
  • Dehydrated Roselle leaves (Mesta tenga): Leaves of Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa) are dried in sun and crushed. The products are packed in polypacks before selling in the market.
